When cutting it out of the card stock I bisected the line created by connecting the tips of the star arms with an artist’s blade. When I scored and folded back the flap I simply matched them up with their partner on the other piece and glued them together. The little gaps created gave me an opportunity to created a bigger gap to fit the tree top into.
